Florence celebrates Michelangelo with the exhibition "Michelangelo and Power" at Palazzo Vecchio, from 18 October 2024 to 26 January 2025. Curated by Cristina Acidini and Sergio Risaliti, the exhibition explores the relationship between the Renaissance genius and political, ecclesiastical and society of his time. Over 50 works including sculptures, paintings, drawings and autograph letters reveal the mutual influence between Michelangelo's art and the historical context.
Among the masterpieces on display, the bust of Brutus stands out, loaned by the Bargello National Museum, a symbol of freedom against tyranny. Palazzo Vecchio, seat of the Florentine government, becomes the ideal place to reflect on art and power, with works from the Uffizi, Bargello and Casa Buonarroti. MORE INFO
