On Wednesday 19 June at 5pm the Cesare Viviani Cultural Association hosts the presentation of a book by Laura Gori, “Two Mothers and other stories” (Le Scatole Parlanti, 2024).
The event, with free entry, will be held at the association's headquarters in Casermetta sulle Mura above Porta Santa Maria and will be coordinated by Giuliana Giusti Chines and Giuseppe Dovichi who they will dialogue with the author.
Born in Lucca in 1973, Laura Gori is a pediatrician, photographer and for some years has dedicated herself to short story writing. A daughter who looks after her mother who now has no memory, a young novice doctor with suffering, a woman who runs away, the torments of a teenager, the magical world in which they live children. Here are some of the protagonists of this collection of stories, which was born with the intent and the ambition of wanting to probe the prismatic universe of women and that of their children. Often fragile women and restless, looking for the right direction to take, they find themselves interacting with children with enchanted eyes, problematic teenagers and vulnerable elderly people.
