Teatro del Giglio announces its Dance Season for 2025.
Giselle around Le Villi - writes Sergio Oliva (who together with Silvano Corsi wrote the adaptation and transcriptions of Le Villi and Giselle - is a project of experimentation and research around Puccini's music.
The two operas Le Villi and Giselle have many things in common: obviously the subject, the young age of the composers, the fact of being two important people in the musical world and in the private life of their respective authors. In fact, while Giselle is the first score written for a ballet, Le Villi is the first opera that projects Puccini into the great operatic world. Another thing that unites the two works is the extraordinary reception of both the public and the critics. This fusion work of ours through the use of original music that acts as a link between the two compositions seeks to "essentialize" the main dramaturgical and musical elements, in order to bring the public to follow both Ballet and Opera at the same time and in a "single block", and bring to the public's attention the extraordinary relevance of Young Puccini.
