The Paul Taylor Dance Company -returns to the Lucca stage. Considered one of the most iconic modern dance companies of our time, it has innovated and transformed modern dance since 1954, the year of its foundation. With a history of multidisciplinary collaborations, athleticism and passion, the Company is known worldwide for its vast repertoire that ranges from the works of founder Paul Taylor to new works created by some of today's most accomplished choreographers.
Directed by its founder and choreographer until his death in August 2018, the Paul Taylor Dance Company is present in theaters in over 600 cities and 65 countries. Michael Novak is currently its artistic director. At the Teatro del Giglio on February 1st three choreographies are scheduled, two of which are "historic" - Mercuric Tidings and Esplanade -, signed by Taylor himself in 1982 and 1975 respectively, plus Somewhere in the middle by Amy Hall Garner.
