One Night in New York, the film directed by Christy Hall, takes place aboard a taxi. A young woman (Dakota Johnson) gets into the car driven by Clark (Sean Penn) who is supposed to take her from JFK airport in New York to Manhattan. She appears tense, and the two begin a light conversation, it seems like the usual superficial chatter between taxi driver and customer. But along the journey the conversation seems to take shape and depth. The two feel free to address important and very personal topics and then become intimate. Relationships, love, sex, past and present. Clark and the girl tell their story, reveal details of their personal history and with great honesty lay bare their fragilities.
