The movie features agents Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett (Will Smith and Martin Lawrence) following corruption investigations within the Miami police.
They discover that their former Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano), now deceased, is accused of having worked with drug cartels. This discovery, however, backfires on them, from that moment on they are suspected of having collaborated with him and some criminal organizations in the city.
