On the occasion of the exhibition of the Ragghianti Foundation "«Qual eye in the world». Puccini photographer" , the conference " The 'Caselli': a café in the history of Lucca" will be held on Monday 11 March at 5.30 pm in the «Vincenzo da Massa Carrara» conference room in via San Micheletto 3 in Lucca, held by Professor Umberto Sereni. (In Italian)
As is known, among the places frequented by Giacomo Puccini in the city of Lucca, the famous Caffè of Alfredo Caselli stands out, who was able to gather in the place in via Fillungo a real cenacle in which, around the figures of Puccini himself and Giovanni Pascoli, they gravitated important artists, writers and musicians.
Furthermore, Alfredo Caselli played an important role in bringing the composer closer to the knowledge and practice of photography. Professor Sereni will talk about this and the cultural climate of Lucca between the 19th and 20th centuries in his conference, open to the public with free admission
