In 2025 Lucca will once again be a protagonist in the Giro d'Italia.The date to be circled in red on the calendar is May 20th, the day on which the 28.6 kilometers of the Lucca-Pisa time trial will take place.

Sunday 18 May first "touchdown" in Tuscany, with Gubbio-Siena.

Monday 19th rest day

Tuesday 20th it's the turn of the Lucca time trial: starting from Piazza Napoleone, with the group of runners who will go up from Via Veneto to the Caffè delle Mura and from here will cover three quarters of the city walls clockwise up to the San Salvatore bastion , then go down via Bacchettoni and take Porta Elisa to exit the city centre.

From there, through the peripheral neighborhoods, you arrive at Brenner heading towards Pisa, through San Giuliano, arriving in Piazza dei Miracoli. 28.6 kilometers of route with the slight slope of the Foro di San Giuliano as the only mild roughness, before the final kilometers on the flat.
