He studied at the Hochschule für Kath. Kirchenmusik in Regensburg thanks to a scholarship from the Hofer Symphoniker. In 1989 he began studying church music (organ and improvisation) at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Prof. Harald Feller, graduating in 1994.

At the same time he attended specialization courses with Olivier Latry (Notre Dame de Paris), Jesper Christensen (Schola Cantorum, Basel), Naji Hakim (Paris), Wolfgang Seifen (Berlin) and Ton Koopman (Amsterdam).

He began working as a church musician first at the Church of St. Bonifatius in Munich and from September 1998 at the „Marienmünster“ in Dießen (Ammersee), starting the concert season „Diessener Münsterkonzerte“ here.

Since 1996 he began the intensive study of 17th and 18th century literature by studying harpsichord at the Richard-Strauß-Konservatorium in Munich in Michael Eberth's class and thanks to this he still plays as a continuum player with numerous orchestras and ensembles today.

Since November 2011 he has been appointed Regionalkantor for the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart for the Allgäu, Oberschwaben and Bodensee region and is responsible for music at the St. Martin's Church in Leutkirch.
