As part of Teatro del Giglios contemporary dance season Akram Khan Company is delighted to bring back its much-loved family production Chotto Desh. Adapted in 2015 by Theatre-Rites director Sue Buckmaster, based on Akram Khan's Olivier Award-winning and critically acclaimed DESH, this moving story tells of a young man trying to find his place in the world.

In 2023 it returns to capture the attention and imagination of a new generation of young viewers. Chotto Desh, which means "little homeland", takes advantage of Khan's unique ability to narrate cross-cultural stories, creating a compelling tale of the dreams and memories of a boy who, from Britain to Bangladesh, celebrates the resilience of the human soul in the modern world.

Combining Kathak and contemporary dance with an exquisite blend of spoken lyrics, dreamlike animations, images and specially composed music, Chotto Desh is an enchanting and touching dance theater experience for children aged 7 and above and their families. MORE INFO
