Chinese New Year

On February 10, 2024 we enter the Year of the Dragon, synonymous with magnanimous power, strength and harmony. On February 9th at 5pm ringing of the bell at the Pu Hua Buddhist temple to coincide with midnight in Beijing.

Sunday 18 February the usual parade passes through the Macrolotto Zero and the historic center. The procession, starting from the Pu Hua Buddhist temple (Piazza della Gualchierina) around 9 am, will wind through the city passing through Macrolotto Zero. Along the route, there are various stops with performances by some groups of the procession in characteristic dances. The procession arrives at the end of its journey in the historic city centre, approximately three hours after departure. The most spectacular part of the performances takes place here, under the statue of Marco Datini, historic fourteenth-century merchant and tutelary deity of the city of Prato, against the backdrop of the Praetorian Palace and the town hall, sealing the meeting and integration between East and West, Prato and Chinese communities.
